Training & Education
An underpinning part of the Scheme’s ethos is the ongoing education of its members. This not only allows new members to learn about pre-hospital care, but also facilitates the continuing professional development of existing practitioners.
Working in the pre-hospital care environment demands high levels of professionalism and team work – WYMRT expects its members to attend ongoing education sessions as a means to ensure our practice is current, evidence based and in line with our standard operating procedures.
The WYMRT Education Meetings are held on a monthly basis in Leeds. Talks are given by experienced practitioners on varying topics, which are mapped to a pre-hospital care curriculum.
Didactic presentations are supported by practical sessions that allow members to retain familiarity with the specialised equipment carried in the WYMRT vehicle. In addition to the meeting’s main talk or skills session, there shall also be an audit or case presentation as part of the Scheme’s commitment to clinical governance.
Meetings are open to all WYMRT members. Click here for more information about membership.
