West Yorkshire Medic Response Team (WYMRT) is a charity that exists to provide training and mentorship to pre-hospital care doctors. Through this work, additional support is lent to the regional ambulance trust - Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS).
Experienced doctors and emergency drivers work on a voluntary basis for the Scheme. A rapid response car is used to attend the scenes of serious medical and traumatic emergencies.
The Scheme is currently funded by Sovereign Healthcare. Close ties with YAS are in place and we aim to help both support and supplement the work of emergency ambulance crews.
